Quick poll: Has anyone else started getting summer catalogs filled with bikini models? How about the barrage of Fenty lingerie ads? Surely, it is not just me. ‘Tis the season for more skin exposure. And…
I’m not quite ready.
I stay in relatively good shape year round (humble brag alert). But a little pre-game boost never hurt anybody. Therefore, I’ve added a new yoga ball sequence block, focused on cardio and core strength. As with my other Asana Blocks—you can perform as a standalone routine by repeating the sequence block several times. Or as an alternative, you can tack the sequence onto the backend of another flow. The more energy you have on a given day, the more you can give to the routine. For maximum results, hold the crunches longer; go deeper into your squats. If you just aren’t up to a cardio routine, go check out my “Easy Release” yoga ball routine instead. It’s quick, fun and can be done outdoors.
Fitness Fun with Props
This week you will not only need stamina but props! Dust off the yoga/pilates ball, make sure you have a bit more floor space than usual and get access to a wall. If you are accident prone (ie. clumsy), take it slow at first. Get comfortable with the moves and then pick up the pace. You’re not running a race! Nothing stops a fitness routine quicker than a faceplant. Let’s try to stay injury free this summer.

Recommended Music Selections
Go ahead and blast your power songs for today’s routine. Anything to keep you motivated and drown out the sounds of your own heavy breathing. Gangsta rap, Trap music, the Rocky theme, etc.
